A defined path from initial information to delivered plans.

1. Initial consultation

Discuss the project, location, intended work, approximate area, schedule, existing documentation, and whether permit-review drawings are needed. Share any construction or financing deadline during the consultation. Accudrafters does its best to accommodate project needs, but does not offer a published rush-service package or guarantee expedited delivery or a permit-review schedule. Timelines and current availability are discussed directly with each client. Accudrafters does not publish duration ranges or promise an exact timeline. Client availability and responsiveness, contractor redlines, engineering, other consultants, and jurisdiction review can affect progress and are outside Accudrafters' control.

2. Written scope and pricing

Accudrafters defines included drawings, meetings, visualization, responsibilities, exclusions, payment schedule, and fixed fee or hourly work. A down payment can start the process. Ideally, the signed agreement and available property information are provided at the same time. Additional fees are agreed with the client before added work begins.

3. Existing information

Measure-up, photographs, sketches, surveys, older plans, HOA requirements, contractor notes, and other project inputs are assembled. The client or contractor hires and pays outside consultants directly. Incorporating their supplied documents and related in-scope drawing adjustments is included in the fixed fee. Supplied HOA requirements are incorporated in the design; the client or contractor handles HOA applications and presentations.

4. Design development

Plans and 3D views are reviewed online. There is no numerical limit on design revisions within the agreed scope before the client approves the design for working drawings. Selections and project information are maintained in shared tools as the design develops. Manufacturers, model numbers, materials, and finishes are recorded in the selection sheet and applicable drawing schedules to the extent the client or contractor provides them. Contractor pricing remains the contractor's responsibility.

5. Working drawings

The approved design is developed into the agreed plan package, including schedules, details, and coordination defined in the written scope. After design approval for working drawings, client- or contractor-requested design changes are $115 per hour with a two-hour minimum. Fees are agreed before work begins.

6. Delivery and redlines

The PDF package is delivered for permit-review submission. The client or contractor submits and tracks the permit application and pays permit fees. Accudrafters prepares the agreed permit-review drawing package but does not pull permits. Jurisdiction-requested corrections within the original agreed scope are included at no additional Accudrafters charge through permit approval. If the reviewer requires engineering, the client or contractor hires and pays the engineer directly; integrating the supplied engineering documents and making related in-scope drawing adjustments remain included in the fixed fee.
